Thames Valley Park & Ride
Thames Valley Park & Ride site is located at Thames Valley Park, east of Reading and is located west of the roundabout between the A3290 and Thames Valley Park Drive.
Travelling to the Royal Berkshire Hospital
- Reading Buses run the 300 bus every 20 minutes Monday to Friday to Royal Berkshire Hospital (RBH). Please check the timetable here
- RBH staff can travel free using their NHS pass
- Patients and visitors to the hospital will need to pay for bus travel
- Concessionary passholders may travel for free, but must pay for parking
- The appropriate parking charge will be payable at the on-site parking machine instead of on-bus for patients and visitors, including concessionary passholders
Fares from Thames Valley Park & Ride to the Royal Berkshire Hospital or Christchurch Green (for the University of Reading)
- Return fare: £2.50
- Boost (18 & under): £2.50
- Concessionary bus passholders – travel free (according to the terms of the local authority that they are travelling in) but pay for parking
- Group Tickets: Up to 4 people, £8.00 off-peak and £10 at other times
Travelling to London Heathrow
From 19 January, the RailAir bus will no longer call in at Thames Valley Park & Ride but will go to Winnersh Triangle Park & Ride.
Parking
- The car park is also open for anyone wishing to park
- All users must register their vehicle details at the on-site parking machines
- The appropriate parking charge will be payable at the on-site parking machine instead of on-bus for patients and visitors, including concessionary passholders

Short Stay - Day rates
- £1 for up to 4 hours (6am to 6pm)
- £4 for up to 24 hours
- £1.00 overnight (6pm to 6am)
Long Stay - Multiple day rates for long stay parking of up to 5 days
- 2 days £40
- 3 days £60
- 4 days £80
- 5 days £100
Annual Session Tickets
- 365 days £950
Annual session tickets must be purchased in advance from Wokingham Borough Council and can be used at any time and for any duration of stay
Vehicles may be left in the car park overnight. Long stay rates are for those who plan to leave their vehicles for more than 24 hours. Charges apply at all times including Sundays and Bank Holidays.

6am to 10pm Monday to Sunday including Bank Holidays
Unlocking the gates
The entrance barrier at Thames Valley Park and Ride will close at 10pm and reopen at 6am.
Car parks are open only from and to the advertised time. If gates are open after these times, don't assume they will stay open as your car could get locked in.
If you are locked in there will be a charge of £120 for the gate to be unlocked.
