Walktober
Let's get moving this Walktober!
Get moving for our wellbeing, our community and our planet.
Walktober is a challenge held each October to celebrate International Walk to School Month. School communities are asked to walk, wheel and use other active and sustainable travel as much as possible throughout the month.
This is the first year that Wokingham have taken part in Walktober.
The resources for Walktober have been created with the support from Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council.
Registration
Please contact us to register your school by Friday 26 September 2025.
You can find all the resources you need to take part under Related Downloads. For primary schools please download the first six and for secondary schools please download the last six.
Each October pupils, staff and families are encouraged to get moving for Walktober!
By travelling actively and sustainably throughout October school communities can make a difference - for our wellbeing, our community and our planet.
Walking, wheeling, cycling, scooting, using Park and Stride or public transport reduces car use, benefits health and wellbeing and has a positive impact on the local community by reducing congestion and improves air quality.
