Enhanced Partnership

Notice of Intent to Prepare an Enhanced Partnership Plan and Scheme

Published 28th June 2021

At its meeting on Thursday 24th June 2021, Wokingham Borough Council’s Executive gave approval to proceed with the development of an Enhanced Partnership. The commencement of this is confirmed through this notice of intention to prepare an Enhanced Partnership Plan and accompanying Enhanced Partnership Schemes, as required, and set out in section 138F of the Transport Act 2000.

Wokingham Borough Council will work with all local bus operators whose services operate within the borough. It is the Council’s intention to produce both a Local Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) and an Enhanced Partnership which covers the entire borough. Please download a copy of our Public Transport Map & Guide (please see Related Downloads) to see a map of the existing bus network and the full extent of the area which falls within the borough’s boundaries.

The Council welcomes full participation in the process from all local bus operators and community transport operators who operate within the borough, although there is no obligation on any operator to participate in an Enhanced Partnership. The Council would also welcome participation from local businesses and representatives of local community groups.

Next Steps:

The Council will  now work towards the publication of a Local Bus Service Improvement Plan for the end of October 2021 and the agreement of an Enhanced Partnership with local bus operators by April 2022. More information will be made available on this page later this year.
