Bikeability Summer Holiday Courses at Woodford Park Leisure Centre, Woodley

Avanti Cycling are running the following Bikeability courses at Woodford Park Leisure Centre, Woodley during the Summer holidays.

Learn to Ride Bikeability Training (£10)

  • This is open to children 6 years and above.
  • Children will be taught in small groups of 3.
  • They will be given individual support and guidance and time to practice by themselves as well.

Level 1 & 2 Bikeability Training (£12)

  • This is open to children who are confident cyclists aged 10 and above.
  • Level 1 is done off-road, away from traffic, in an area such as a playground. It provides riders with essential bike handling skills such as starting, stopping and steering.
  • Level 2 involves riding on roads and providing riders with the skills to navigate through traffic with confidence.

  • This is open to teenagers aged 13 to 16 who are confident cyclists.
  • Level 1 is done off-road, away from traffic, in an area such as a playground. It provides riders with essential bike handling skills such as starting, stopping and steering.
  • Level 2 involves riding on roads and providing riders with the skills to navigate through traffic with confidence.

Level 3 Bikeability Training (£12)

  • This is open to children aged 11 and above who have completed Bikeability Level 2.
  • Riders will be riding on busier roads in a group of three with one instructor. Riders should be confident and ride regularly.

Level 3 Bikeability Training (£12)

  • This is open to teenagers aged 13 to 16, ideally who have completed Level 2 but not essential.

Instructions

Please bring your own pedal cycle and cycle helmet, clothing appropriate for the weather, food and water for the day as well as a packed lunch in a small rucksack.

If you feel unable to pay for the sessions for any reason please contact us to discuss options with us. We wish to remove barriers to cycling, so whilst we need to cover our costs we don't want this to prohibit anybody from attending
