Half-term Family Cycle Trails
A total of 84 people took part in our Family Bike trails in February half-term!
During the February half-term, lockdown meant that we could not organise any group rides but, to encourage people to get out on their bikes, we came up with two cycle trails which families could complete on their own. We provided route maps on our website for people to download. There were posters for people to find along the route with QR codes on to scan to give them the answers to the clues.
There were two separate trails, each about 5–6 miles long which were mainly on cycle paths, greenways or quiet roads.
12 families (40 people) rode the route from the FBC centre to Arborfield Green and Observer Way.
13 families (44 people) took part in the Wokingham Without trail, which started from Pinewood Activity Centre and took in part of Buckler’s Forest.
One family even completed both trails and said: “We really enjoyed the trails, they were the ideal activities given the current restrictions. We even biked from home to complete the Arborfield trail, 13 miles in all!”
The winners were chosen at random from all the correct entries and received a certificate and prizes kindly donated by ASDA. Congratulations to the lucky winners who were:
