Assembly and Prize Giving at Wescott Infant School

The My Journey Team delivered an assembly on sustainable travel to approx. 50 children at Wescott Infant School on Tuesday, 12th June.  The children learned about sustainable forms of transport and took part in their own sustainable travel survey, which demonstrated that more children would like to bike to school if they had the opportunity.  The children also learned about the benefits of wearing hi-vis clothing on dull or dark days.

There was also a prize giving, following a caption competition that the pupils took part in last term to complete the sentence ‘I like hi-vis because……’.  Two children with the best responses were presented with prizes including water bottles, hi-vis rucksac covers and hi-vis snap bands.  The winning captions were ‘I like hi-vis because people can see you in the dark and to be safe’ and ‘I like hi-vis so me and my Daddy can cycle safely in the dark’.
