'Your Time to Shine' competition results!

During October, the Road Safety and My Journey teams ran a competition with Safer Roads Wokingham to highlight the importance of remaining visible during the winter season when light levels are low. The competition was open to all schools and residents in the borough, and many creative entries were received including video and artwork on the subject of being bright day and night and showed people wearing hi-vis and reflective clothing, footwear and accessories, as well as lights and torches!

After much deliberation the judging panel made the decision that the winner was Beechwood Primary School (who produced 14 fantastic entries!) with Lizzie and Megan’s artwork below being awarded the best entry.  Their lucky class will be receiving the overall prize of hi-vis rucksacks with the school logo at a prize presentation in the school on 12 December!  Another notable entry being awarded a prize came from Isabelle at Charvil Piggott Primary School.

All individuals entering the competition won blue flashing heel lights to keep them safe when they are out walking, cycling or scooting on their journeys to and from school during the darker mornings and afternoons this time of year.
