Winning Businesses

Eighteen businesses across Wokingham took part in the commuter challenge over September and October. Organisations were competing against one another in four different categories. Woodley businesses, Woodford Park and Stewarts Coaches took first place in two of the categories with Amec Foster Wheeler in Shinfield and Guide Dogs on Winnersh Business Park also taking top spots.

The four winning businesses were treated to a visit from the My Journey cargo bike café and the most active employees at each winning workplace was also awarded a £100 gift voucher to share with their colleagues.

The winning employee at Stewarts Coaches spoke to My Journey about the challenge..

"One of my colleagues earlier this week cited the BetterPoints app as one of the reasons to get you doing something. She said when you think “I might just give it a miss today”, instead it makes you think “I want to claim those points for myself”! It just gives you a little nudge to do it. It’s like meeting someone to go to the gym, or making a plan to meet someone for a walk around the park. It encourages you to do something."

Matt Taylor, Group Compliance and Health & Safety Manager at Stewarts Coaches (winner in the large business category)

Well done to all businesses and employees who took part in the challenge!
