Cycling Promotion at Reading University

The My Journey team were at Reading University yesterday (27th September) at an event to promote cycling for students. More than 40 students visited our stand, to have a go on the Smoothie bike, receive advice on safe cycling and purchase cycle helmets at reasonable prices.

Second-hand refurbished bikes were for sale or for hire at the event (and were snapped up.) Students also brought their own bikes to be checked by Doctor Bike and 35 bikes were security marked by Wokingham Borough Council's Community Wardens. The event also aimed to ensure that those who did choose to cycle had proper lights, bike locks and knew how to cycle safely on the roads (or access training.)
