Breeze Champion of Champions!

At the Breeze summer social on Friday 30 June, Carole Richards, one of their amazing Breeze champions and also one of our cycling instructors, was awarded a Champion of Champions picture in honour of her completing 150 rides!!  Well done, Carole!  Carole became a champion 4 years ago and has tirelessly promoted and led the free, fun rides for ladies in and around Wokingham ever since, with members of the group now nearing 30… many who sign up to the rides on a weekly basis and have become good friends.

Breeze is the biggest programme ever to get more women into riding bikes for fun. Their aim is to help thousands more women feel confident and comfortable about going on a ride.

While cycling is becoming more and more popular in the UK, the proportion of women getting involved is actually declining. Breeze want to change that.

They train up Breeze champions who organise fun, social, local bike rides for women. Rides go at a speed that suits everyone, and they often start or finish at a cafe so everyone can have a drink and a chat.

They're also promoting female-friendly bike shops, and helping more women find bikes to hire and buy cheaply and signposting to adult cycle training.
